We gave Daisy her first real feeding of FOOD yesterday! A few days ago we popped some mashed potatoes in her mouth on the spur of the moment to see what would happen and she got pretty excited so I set out to make some baby food.

Her first reaction to carrots?
"HOLY SHIT BATMAN!"
Or you know, something like that by the look on her face.

It cracked me up that she really REALLY wanted to help - it's her first time, I thought babies were supposed to be all placid or something. HA - not so much, she was INTO this shit! :)

Kitty decided that she was into it too when I wasn't looking so that was the end of that, but enough damage was already done -

Cuz Damn. I think I got the pants off shirt on thing backwards and maybe a bib would be a good idea but we're learning.
And from the looks of Miss Piggy she's quite eager for another lesson. :)

try some sweet taters next time, katelyn loved them! you can also mix them together too. best to just strip em' down unless you like doing extra laundry. love the look on her face tho, adorable

:) I'll bet she'd love them but I'm going to go back to less-sweet stuff for a bit, she already turned down the plain potato after having the yummy sweeter carrot. Lil bugger! :) Today she's gonna get avacado :)

And lol you're right, nekkid is way to go it seems :D It's hot anyways, why not hillbilly it up? :)

XOXOX :)

That last picture is priceless!! Def show it to all her friends when she's in high school.

I, on the other hand, have never been anywhere near that excited about carrots.

Cute family ya got there :)

I love it!!! She is the cutest baby!! You should always save the sweet stuff for last. Veggies, sweet veggies, then fruits. If the girls didn't like the peas or something I would double dip the spoon. First the food she didn't like then the food she did. That way when she tasted it she liked it. By the time she tasted the other stuff it was too late.. down the gullet it went!!! If the baby food wasn't filling enough and they weren't ready for heavier stuff I would just mash some tators and mix in the baby food. Maybe that's why my 3 girls were all porkers as infants? HMM? Oh well they're so skinny now no on believe that they're even mine!!! ♥Ya

Go Daisy! A girl who loves food that much is a girl after my own heart!

And I am super impressed that you are making her food! I don't even want to know how much money I could have saved by doing it myself.

And Jaime is right! At nearly-5 and 3, Cooper and Maren still eat most of their meals naked so that Mommy doesn't have to pre-treat the stains!

OMT - It's not so bad after the first 3.5 months or so. I can see light again and no longer want to run screaming or give her to the neighbors. If that helps. :D

Gringa - I've been that excited about potatoes, but yeah never carrots - funny comment, you made me smile :)

Corey - Hey COOL advice about the double dipping, I'll totally remember that :) Mmmmmm taters, taters should be in every food anyway. :)

F&F - The making the food is no big deal at this point - lol it's only one mashed carrot and one mashed potato - steamed in the microwave - not too much work so far. :) Next on the list is raw avacado and I think I'll cook up some green beans and mush em up to she what happens. And yes - NAAAKKID! :D

Crystal - Thank You :) And yep! I gave her green beans today - lol her first face was kind of like "What the hell is THIS shit?" but she didn't spit it out so I just kept giving it to her and she got used to it. :) Next on the list - squash! I bought it today :)
